Dear Indians Alumni and Family,

I’d like to tell you about a great opportunity for you to leave your legacy on our Canal Winchester football program. As you may know, we recently renovated our locker room after 20-plus years. This was a great effort by so many parents, players and coaches. Thanks to our volunteers and donors, we were able to purchase 111 custom oak lockers along, custom wall graphics, and a film room. Through the generosity of supporters like you, we have provided our student-athletes with the locker facility they deserve.

The support of our community motivates our players with pride. Over the last two years we’ve made huge strides as a program, showing that we belong in the OCC. We are in the process of building a premier football program in Central Ohio. One aspect of a premier program that is missing is a connection with our alumni.

Canal Winchester has a rich football tradition, and we want our alumni’s contributions to this school to be seen and felt by every generation of players. To this end, we present to you the Indians Alumni Locker-Naming Opportunity. This sponsorship includes a custom locker plaque engraved with your name, number, and the years you played football at Canal Winchester High School.

Before our players take the field, they will be inspired by your legacy and your contributions to the success of our football program. We humbly ask Alumni Locker-Naming Sponsors to contribute $150 for their first three years, with $50 annual contributions to renew locker-naming rights in year four.
These Alumni Plaques demonstrate the respect our program has for our great alumni players. Before each game and after each practice, our coaches can point to your name as an example of athletic accomplishment and service to your alma mater. By bringing a constant alumni presence into our locker room, we hope to instill in our players a sense of the tradition they are carrying on. With your Alumni Locker-Naming Membership, you’ll also receive a quarterly newsletter from me informing you about all the great things going on in our program.

For family of alumni, this moving tribute to your CW player will be memorable and lasting. Several families have already purchased these limited-opportunity plaques, including the parents of one former player who will present photos of the plaque as a birthday gift for their son. These plaques make beautiful graduation gift for Varsity CW players.

Thank you for considering this opportunity to cement your legacy for generations of CW Indians. Locker Room Renovation Project

On Monday, Aug. 27, 2018, Canal Winchester Football players will get the surprise of their young athletic careers as the CW Indians Touchdown Club, in partnership with the Canal Winchester Athletic Department and Canal Winchester Board of Education, unveil a new state-of-the-art locker facility.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony will begin at 2 p.m., and will be attended by players, CW Athletic Director Pat Durbin, Head Coach Joshua Stratton, and the generous members of the Canal Winchester community who made this renovation possible.

“The great thing about coaching in Canal Winchester is that this community is dedicated to the success of all of our student-athletes. We wanted to give our kids a place they deserve, and our town pulled together and made it happen,” said Coach Stratton.

Parents, alumni, and football fans worked for a total combined 1,000 volunteer man-hours rebuilding the locker facility.

Area business Accurate Electric and Construction donated expert services to wire the new film room for the facility, complete with a big-screen projector and improved technological capabilities. Local sponsors including Kelly Abbott Realtors, Shari Smith Realtors, the Roofing Guys, and the BrockStrong Foundation donated funds throughout the year for the project. In addition to the new locker room, last week the BrockStrong Foundation unveiled the Brock Johnson Athletic Training Facility at Canal Winchester High School.

“Our coaches make sure our players appreciate what our town does for them, and they pay it forward through community service year-round,” said Touchdown President Greg Allen.

“It really shows you have someone to play for when you’re under the lights.” Noah Brown, junior Canal Winchester player. “It gives you pride in your town and your school.”
